The following individual has been added to “OIG Most Wanted Fugitives,” a list of the top ten fugitives on charges related to healthcare fraud and abuse: Ji Hae Kim was indicted on charges of conspiracy to commit healthcare fraud in November 2011.
Captured Healthcare Fraud Fugitive
The Office of Inspector General (OIG) captured one healthcare fraud fugitive in the past month: Won Suk Lee was arrested in Los Angeles on June 1, 2013. He was indicted on charges of healthcare fraud, aiding and abetting, and causing an act to be done in July 2012. Investigators believe that Won Suk Lee Acupuncture and Herb, Inc. submitted approximately $2.1 million in false claims to Medicare for allegedly provided acupuncture and massage services to Medicare patients from August 2009 through February 2011. The services were not covered by Medicare.
